“Iraqi cleric Muqtada al-Sadr reorganizes militia”

Iraqi cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has supposedly told his militias to stand down, but is maintaining some armed units in case a timetable for withdrawal of U.S. troops is not established.  I don’t know about you, but I have doubts about this guy’s motives!  I mean, he has only spent the last several years fighting our soldiers with road-side bombs, so I am sure he is going to be straight up with us, right?  Don’t get me wrong, I think we should sieze the opportunity to discuss peace with al-Sadr, but complete trust is something he hasn’t quite earned yet…

“After shake-up, McCain ground game revs up”

http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080808/pl_politico/12388

More signs that the McCain campaign has some life.  After a reorganization, it appears that they are actually going to try to win this thing!  Nineteen states are listed as targets by the McCain camp: Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.  They should win New Hampshire, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Colorado, and Michigan.  Chances are excellent for a win in Missouri.  There is an outside chance in Pennsylvania, Iowa, and New Mexico.  Many of these states are featured in my Battleground States series.  Overall, i am just glad to see them getting more aggressive against “The One.”
